From the single site to the Euro-Mediterranean network.

How it works

The architecture in four levels

GENESTIA is organised in a simple, repeating structure. The same pattern that begins in Corfu can be applied anywhere.

CLUSTER

A broader geographic region — the Ionian Islands, the Mediterranean, the Balkans. A cluster unites many Chapters under a common horizon.

CHAPTER

The local expression of the network, named after its place with the suffix -GEN: CorfuGen in Corfu, ZanteGen in Zakynthos, and so on. Each Chapter manages its own Sites.

SITE

A distinct, real place — a traditional coffeehouse, an olive grove, an eco-hub. Each Site is a hearth with its own programme and its own identity. CorfuGEN begins with five.

ACTIVITY

Whatever brings each Site to life: a seminar, an exhibition, a visit, a product, an event. Activities are the visitor’s point of contact with the network — where they take part, learn, support.

How a Network Takes Shape

Kafeneio Kamaras

We begin with one site — Kafeneio Kamaras.

CorfuGEN

Around it a Chapter is built — CorfuGen, with five sites.

Ionian Cluster

As Chapters are born on other islands, a Cluster takes shape — the Ionian.

GENESTIA

And as Clusters spread, a Euro-Mediterranean network of rural regeneration emerges.
